Pain in the tendon is a common condition but still is not very clear on how to explain the origin of the pain. Overload is one of the factors causing this pathology although physical activity is not always associated directly with histopathology and looks like sports provoke the symptoms more than being the cause of the injury.
Tendinopathies are not easy to treat. It has been demonstrated that conservative treatment based on specific exercises (mainly eccentric) is useful to manage the pain and, that controlling the load is the key to a successful return to activity progression.
Their particular structure made them more susceptible to get injured. The most affected tendons are:
- Achilles tendon
- Patellar tendon
- Supraspinatus tendon.
